Now that Flow House Kuwait’s THREE FlowRider® surf simulators (2 FlowRider Doubles and 1 FlowRider Compact) are flowing perfectly and other final touches are in place, the locals are flocking! This is the Middle East’s 1st Flow House, so the owner went all out!
Not only will patrons continue to flock to experience the thrill of surfing on the FlowRiders, they will come for the whole experience. There are 36 comfortable, ride-side cabins that patrons can rent for the day. While patrons watch flowboarders shred on the waves, they can order room service, help themselves at the stocked bar and just lounge around with their private group. Flow House Kuwait also has one of the world’s few Clear Lounge® Oxygen Bars – an underwater oxygen bar! With a Ruby Tuesdays restaurant onsite also, guests can easily hang out here all day and be fully engulfed in the Southern California vibe.
“We have had a lot of locals coming back every week, sometimes multiple times a week, to ride the FlowRiders. This summer will be really fun, but really busy,” shared Mohammed Khoursheed, Flow House Kuwait Owner. To keep it even more busy, Khoursheed has plans to sell season passes. This will undoubtedly help foster the development of a Middle East “chapter” of established flowboarders; basically it makes it more affordable for avid riders to practice more frequently. He also plans to tie in free ride time for those patrons that rent cabins.
“We know how addictive this sport is, so the more people that try to flowboard even though they didn’t want to in the first place, the busier our rides will be overall,” Khoursheed continues. “It’s so fun and people get hooked so fast!” Speaking of people getting hooked to flowboarding, April 14th is Flow House Kuwait’s first ever competition! This FLOW Tour Pro/Am competition will feature Men’s, Women’s, Juniors, and Master’s Divisions in both riding disciplines – bodyboarding and flowboarding. Who knows?!? Maybe Kuwait will have a presence at the next World Championships of Flowboarding!
“There is a growing trend for (FlowRider) waves in the Middle East with many realising a surfing culture is not a prerequisite for guests to enjoy the FlowRider experience,” says Mike Rigby, FlowRider Sales Representative based in Dubai. “Whilst some may be apprehensive at first, as more and more FlowRider’s pop up in the region, the brand awareness is growing and it is proving a huge revenue generator for waterparks, resorts and standalone Flow House venues.”
Flow House Kuwait has blown open the figurative FlowRider Door in the Middle East. Business owners are catching onto the perfect sense that it makes to have waves scattered across their desert-laden land. As Rigby mentions, people are seeking thrills and it turns out that locals and visitors to the Middle East are indeed surf hungry. Since our goal and passion is sharing the thrill of surfing across the world regardless of geographical location, Flow House Kuwait is yet another successful wave for which we are proud to be a part.
See Ya On The Wave!
